Dental Crowns
Crowns, when placed using a special cement, cover the entire visible portion of a tooth.
When is a dental crown needed?
A dental crown might be needed to:
Protect and prevent an already weakened tooth (as example, from tooth decay) from breaking or to hold together parts of a cracked tooth
Restore a broken natural tooth or a tooth that has been severely worn down over time
Cover and support a tooth with a large filling where little tooth is remaining
Keep a dental bridge in its place
Cover misshapen or severely discolored teeth
Cover an existing dental implant
Cover a tooth previously treated with a root canal
